The tumble books seem to be very
interesting. Even though the narrator of the book played on our class was
little bit too loud and dramatic. I think his voice may frighten students away
instead of drawing their attentions to the book.
Language is a combination of sound, meaning, and written systems. The
tumble books combined these three elements and scaffolded furthered by photos
and very simple animation. All of that make the books ideal for use in
beginning level classroom. In regard of age appropriateness, I think we can use
it for all kinds of age group. It is apparent on our class last time that all
of us seem to be pretty pleased by the books and engage in it very much. Nevertheless, the tasks we design for adults
can be more challenging and calls for higher cognitive processing than the ones
for kids.
However, since we have to have the New York state library card to open
the book, I am not very sure if we are able to open it from other states or
from another country even if one have the membership card. If it doesn’t work
out in other place, it would be a great shame.
